Using the Academic Computing Center

and Basic Windows Navigation

 
 
Description
  This course will give students a basic understanding of how to best use the equipment and software in the Academic Computing Center. In addition, the class will teach students technology skills such as basic Windows navigation to enchance their college assignments (2 hours).

 

Prerequisites
1. Bring a blank floppy, memory stick or zip disk to class.
 
Goals

1.

To provide students with a clear understanding of how to use basic Academic Computing Center techonology tools needed to successfully complete their college assignments.
2. To familiarize students with practicies that will enable them to use the Academic Computing Center effectively.
3.
To encourage students to take additional Academic Computing Center classes.
4. To encourage students to take additional Business Division related classes.
Outcomes - At the conclusion of the class, students will be able to:
1.
Locate Academic Computing Center software.
2.
Virus check their media.
3.
Save their work effectively.
4.
Use the ACC printers efficiently.
5.
Burn a CD-R.
6.
Use the Center's audio equipment properly (Headphone and amplifier).
