The Educational Uses of the World Wide
Web teaches students how to gain access to World Wide Web
information from a variety of online sources such as Web pages,
newsgroups, encyclopedias, magazines, news sites, wire services,
personal start pages and databases. Students are shown how
to incorporate this information into school work such as term
papers (3 hours).
Goals

Students will learn where information is
located on the Web.

Students of will learn how to use different types of modern
search engines.

Students will enhance their research projects

Students will increase their future success.

Students will take similar credit courses
upon completion of this course.
Outcomes
- At the conclusion of the class, students will be able to:
1.
Use the basic functions of Microsoft Internet
Explorer.
2.
Create, update and use their personal start page and Web-based
E-mail.
3.
Use a variety of sources of data on the
Web.
4.
Search the Web for meaningful information
using a variety of Web-based tools including the ACC
Web Scout and Copernic Pro.
5.
Compile information into a document such as a term paper.
