Instructions for Using ESHA Diet Analysis Plus Version 6.1


Entering personal data- The Profile

1 – Select “New” to open the profile entry screen ready for a new person.

2 - Enter name, gender, weight, height, age, etc. using tab button to advance to next field. Click OK when done. Your profile of basic daily nutrient requirements will be shown.

Entering Daily Intakes

1 – Open the Food entry window by clicking on the (1) icon on the Tool Bar (or select Daily Intake 1 from the Profile menu)

2 - Enter a food name, or part of a name. The fewer letters the better. Hit enter. A selection list of the foods containing the letters you entered will appear in a pop-up window. Use the mouse to scroll and highlight the food you want, and click OK.

3 – Enter the amount of the food eaten. This is entered in two parts – the numeric quantity such as 1 or ½ then press enter; then the measure such as Cup (or 1), Ounces weight (2), or fluid ounces (3) for example, and press the enter key. Valid measures for the food will be shown on-screen, and you can type the highlighted letter to select the measure.

4 – Continue entering foods until your daily intake list is complete.

5 – Edits/Changes to a Daily Intake? Click the number of the day to change to bring it on-screen. Click on the food or amount to change and make your entries. You can insert a new food by placing your cursor on the line and pressing the Ctrl key and the letter I for insert.

To Print Report

1 – From “Day 3” screen, select “Window”

2 – Select “Profile”, personal profile will display on the screen

3 – Click on printer icon

4 – Select “Average All”, then click on OK.

This will print RDA comparison, ratios, and food guide pyramid.
