This course instructs students how to add multimedia elements
to their existing traditional paper resume, cover letter, objective
and other career items. The new E-Portfolio can be stored on
a CD-ROM and / or the Web (2 - 3 hour classes).
Prerequisites
1.
Have proficient mouse and Windows
skills.
2.
Have a completed traditional resume
and bring it to class, preferably on disk, memory stick, zip
or CD-R(W).
3.
Have a blank, PC formatted 100 or
250 megabyte zip disk and bring it to class.
4.
Have a current personal E-mail account.
Goals
1.
To develop, from an existing traditional
resume, a multimedia enhanced E-Porfolio.
2.
To assist students in future employment
or educational success.
Outcomes
- At the conclusion of the class, students will:
1.
Have developed a professional looking multimedia
enhanced E-Portfolio and paper resume from existing Academic
Computing Center E-Portfolio templates.
2.
Be able to perform basic editing in Microsoft
PowerPoint 2003.
3.
Be able to create (burn) an E-Portfolio
on a CD-R disk.
4.
Be able to update their E-Portfolio as needed in the future.
