Spring 2008

The Academic Computing Center offers many classes for all RSCCD registered students. Students can register for these free non-credit classes in the Academic Computing Center during business hours. Please check with the front desk.

The classes cover many pertinent subjects that involve the use of technology. The current classes are:

1. Using the Academic Computing Center - Fundamental Procedures and Basic Windows' Navigation (2 hours) - Students learn critical lab procedures and basic Windows' navigation.

2. Basic Scanning (2 hours) - Students learn how to scan pictures and photographs. Students also learn to scan text documents into a word processing document.

3. The Educational Uses of the World Wide Web (3 hours) - Students learn where information is located on the Web and how to gain access to it to enhance their college work. In addition, students create a Personal Web Start Page and obtain a free E-mail account.

4. Create an E-Portfolio for the Web and on CD-Rom (2, 3 hour classes) - Students convert their existing paper resumes and other career items into an E-Portfolio stored on a CD-ROM or the Web.

Class Schedule

ANY or ALL classes can be offered at ANY time during regular business hours Monday through Friday IF TEN (10) or more STUDENTS are willing to attend.
